Green Week at Jehander HeidelbergCement – to increase awareness of biodiversity and sustainability in our quarries

There are plans (dependent on the covid-19 situation) that a local scout group will join Jehander's Green Week in Bro (a quarry in the Stockholm region) the 9th of June between 9am -3 pm. They will help us build bird boxes and insect houses.

During 2020 Jehander, a aggregates producer in Sweden subsidiary to the global company HeidelbergCement, started a Green Week to highlight and increase awareness about biodiversity and sustainability in their daily operations in the quarries. Different biodiversity actions where done, such as creating meadows, IAS management and creating flower beds with plants for pollinators. These actions will now continue during this year by constructing homes for birds and insects together with volonteers.

Primary Activity: Habitat structure construction
