Save the bee population as an important element of biodiversity

Every year from many countries of the world there are reports of mass death of bees. If the trend continues, then in a hundred years they may disappear altogether.

In its daily work Gurovo-Beton as part of the global company HeidelbergCement focuses on promotion and protection biodiversity at its quarry site. The aim of our initiative is to pay attention to the significance of bees and other pollinators for our survival and to encourage actions that create more bee friendly landscapes. Bees not only promote biodiversity but also secure our food supply, in turn we should ensure food for bees. We are going to create «leave to grow» site where we plant honey plants and trees (sunflowers, cherries etc.) and build «bee hotels» to make their nests.
