Tree planting at BICFOR

Degraded land restoration is a key activity of SUHUCAM. On May 5, 2021, we will organize a special tree planting at the Bamunkumbit Integrated Community Forest (BICFOR) site, a 50hectare degraded land we are restoring for the local and marginalized population of the Mbororos of Bamunkumbit. We will be planting Wenge trees (a threatened specie as listed by IUCN). 7000+ trees have already been planted on this site since 2019 and have seen the participation of 250+ community volunteers. Due to the challenges imposed buy covid-19 and the socio-political crisis in the Region, we are only inviting local volunteers. Note that the area is very hilly with difficult accessibility.

Primary Activity: Revegetation/Seeding
Accessibility: Wheelchair accessible
