UVic Ecological Restoration Club Campus Garry Oak Meadow restoration

The UVic Ecological Restoration Club will be hosting a restoration work party in the campus Garry oak ecosystem on Saturday, June 5 from 10am to 12:30pm. This event coincides with the local launch of the UN Decade of Ecosystem Restoration alongside the UVic Make a Difference Week.
We will be splitting into groups and practising pollinator monitoring, invasive species removal, and seed collecting. All of these activities will support the ongoing student-led restoration initiative at UVic!

It is important to arrive before 10am so we can have a safety talk and get everyone prepared for the day. We are following COVID precautions which include wearing a mask, keeping 2m physical distance, staying home if we are sick, sanitizing tools for everyone, and limiting event attendees. Along with a mask, bring some water and dress in layers for the weather. Snacks will be provided!

Fourteen people maximum are permitted at this event, we will be spread out across the site and required to wear masks. Please bring your own tools if you can, but clean gloves and tools will be available sanitized. Waitlist sign-up is on right now!
