On Saturday, June 12th, 2021, join our community science event to help collect data for local research and monitor the growth of biodiversity in the recovering ecosystems of Greater Sudbury. Explore your backyard or neighbourhood and report sightings of animals and plants to “Greater Sudbury Biodiversity Project” on iNaturalist (https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/greater-sudbury-biodiversity-project).
Use the free iNaturalist app on your smart phone or tablet to submit photos and locations of your observations. Don’t know what species it is? That’s okay, the app also includes a field guide and experts will help confirm species identification. The data then gets shared with fellow naturalists and helps scientists gain a better understanding about when and where species occur.
