Restoring Rondebosch Common

An exciting project restoring the Rondebosch common to its former glory. This very popular recreational park is a multi purpose park and many Cape Townians use the area daily. It is a popular area for runners and dog walkers but perhaps the most special thing about Rondebosch common is that is is one of last few remaining fragments of natural vegetation in the City of Cape Town. There are many threatened and special plants occurring on the common at the local Friends group has been working incredibly hard to conserve and improve the habitat condition. The activity for the day will be focussed on re-introducing Erica turgida which is currently listed as Extinct in the Wild.
